Home Wiki:Request

From Home Wiki

Because Wikipedia is so popular, many people think that the rules developed there apply to all wiki. For instance many believe that they should only participate in a wiki when they have "encyclopedic" knowledge of the topic. In this Home Wiki, all the topics do not need to be fact-based or have a neutral point of view. You are welcome to start a home related article or add to an existing one. (Try to be clear on the difference between entries that are based on fact and opinions.) Also, your additions can be questions for others to answer.

[edit] Defining appropriate content

Not sure where to start? Want to know more about what's appropriate or how to edit a wiki?

  • Find out more about the wiki on the About page.
  • If you are new to wikis, check out the tutorial.

[edit] Starting a new article

To write a new article, just enter the title in the box below, click on the button. The new page will be created for you, and you can start entering and saving your content.

(Before creating a new article, you might want to check whether there's already an article on the topic by using the search. If an article already exists, you can edit and add to it. If it doesn't, please feel free to start it.)

[edit] Adding content

  • Every wiki has two list of articles that need help called
    • "Stubs" for incomplete articles that are missing significant content on the topic, and
    • "Wanted Articles" for articles that have links leading to them, but which haven't been created yet.
  • In addition to those two lists, this wiki has another one. If you don't have time to create the article you want now, you can add the title to future topics.
